Actually there has never been a very satisfying version of Hyouka BDrip, including the old version from VCB-Studio, considering all kinds of new techniques we have now. Due to the time contraints of mine, it has been three years until the KyouAni arson attack in July, I finally decided to put everything else aside and focus on this project. As a memorial project, all participating members of VCB-S are KyoAni fans, and everyone tried their best.
A remaining banded scene was found after we almost finished everything, and we had to re-encode all main episodes with scene-specific filtering. The project took two months to finish, and this dream of mine has finally come true. However, even there is now enough stories to make up for a whole new season, director Yasuhiro Takemoto, chief animation director Futoshi Nishiya, along with many others from KyoAni won"t be able to participate making the next season.
