斑比的名字来自意大利语“Bambino”，意为“幼儿”，也可以指刚出生的耶稣，“Gesù Bambino”。
电影《小鹿斑比》的背景作画和分镜灵感来自幼年从广东移民美国的华裔画家黄齐曜，其水墨风格不仅为影片营造出了神秘的森林氛围，也为工作室节约了宝贵的经费留给斑比和他的朋友们。
