The Mainland Affairs Council said Li Dongxian signed up personally, not on behalf of the Taiwan Taekwondo Association, and that his actions "should not be coordinated with the mainland"s United front propaganda". The Mainland Affairs Committee also said that it had "referred the case to the relevant organizing committee of the Sports Administration".
陆委会表示李东宪是个人报名，并非代表台湾跆拳道协会，相关行为“不应配合陆方统战宣传”。陆委会还表示“已转请体育署相关组委会录案处理”。
