并非人人都读懂了毛姆？《月亮与六便士》中译本的一些普遍误读(8)

“让我来告诉你，我想开头几个月里你完全忘了那码事，你让自己相信，你已经一劳永逸地摆脱了它。你欣喜于获得的自由，你感觉你终于完整地拥有了自己的灵魂。你仿佛已飘然漫步于群星之间。然后，突然间你再也无法忍受了，你发现你的双脚一直走在泥沼里。而且你还想去里面打滚。你找了个女人，她粗野、低贱、俗气，是个充满野性的东西，欲望的恐怖在她身上一览无余，你像头野兽似的扑向她，痛饮，直到愤怒让你失去了控制。”
最后这一句You drink till you"re blind with rage看似简单，但我目前看到的几个较为流行的译本都错了，普遍把这里翻译成喝酒或酩酊大醉的意思。其实不是。
